I am a Professor (Grade 1) in the Department of Entomology at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, and currently serve as Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). I began my teaching career as a Lecturer on 30 January 1995 and joined Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University in August 1997, rising through the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. My doctoral research at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University focused on the bio-ecology, host preference and management of whitefly on mungbean. Over nearly three decades I have devoted my work to integrated pest management — the bio-ecology and control of whitefly, brinjal shoot and fruit borer, fruit flies, stored-grain pests such as the pulse beetle, and the safe use of botanicals and bio-control agents. Through more than forty peer-reviewed publications, a research monograph, numerous funded projects and the supervision of many PhD and MS students, my aim is to protect crop health, reduce chemical dependence, and strengthen quality assurance and the next generation of agricultural scientists in Bangladesh.
